Mira Treatman

(she/her/hers)

LAPC | Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (In supervision toward licensure)

MS | Community & Trauma Counseling

NCC | Nationally Certified Counselor

I offer in-person (Fishtown and Northern Liberties) & telehealth appointments.

I am a humanistic and trauma-sensitive therapist who believes that individuals have the innate power to heal and grow on a path of their own determination. I know we do not exist in a vacuum and that people are products of their context. I provide a non-judgmental space to explore what has happened in your life, not to determine what is “wrong” with you. My clinical point of view is feminist, sex-positive, trauma-sensitive, anti-oppressive, and harm-reductionist.

I treat trauma and PTSD, relationship and attachment concerns, depression, anxiety including social anxiety, life transitions, and identity issues. Additionally, I have experience working with existential concerns, spirituality, religious trauma, and sexual trauma. I believe that reclaiming our sexuality following trauma or abuse is a necessary part of recovery.

I have experience working with people in the perinatal and postpartum periods and across the lifespan.

I specialize in the following areas:

- Infertility

- Termination for Medical Reasons (TFMR)

- Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

- Anxiety and depression during pregnancy and postpartum

- Birth trauma and giving birth after physical or sexual trauma

- Adjustment to parenthood and returning to work or school

- Sexuality after becoming a parent

- Menopause

Other areas of specialty are:

- Non-monogamy

- LGBTQIA+

- Overcoming sexual trauma or abuse

- Artists, dancers, musicians, and body-based professionals

- Questioning identity, sexuality, vocation, career, or religion

- Religious trauma

- Struggling with cheating, betrayal, grief, and loss

- Partners of people with perinatal mental health issues and infertility

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in professional dance companies for ten years. I have extensive experience supporting artists getting projects off the ground and to completion. I am a lifelong Philadelphian, a mom, and a fan of non-fiction.

I encourage you to reach out for a consultation call to start our work together if you think we may be a good fit.
